Hey sister friend! I’m so happy you’re here. Allow me to share a little more about myself…
I’m originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Mexico with a focus in dance & musical theatre. I LOVED to perform. I’ve been a singer since the day I can remember. I had big dreams of becoming a super-start one day!
Once I started college, I discovered a new love for musical theatre. My very first show was as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray. I was hooked. I went on later to play Sally Bowles in Cabaret & Kira in Xanadu. After graduation, I set out to Los Angeles to audition for everything I could, theatre, cruise ships, theme parks, bands, you name it.
After I returned, I received a call from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines with an offer to be one of the singers in the production cast. 2 weeks later I had packed up my things & headed out for Miami, FL for rehearsals. I did a total of 5 contracts of 6 months at sea, traveling all over the world doing the thing I loved most – performing.
On my 4th contract in 2015, I met the man that would eventually become my husband. He was a passenger traveling with his buddy who lived in Seattle at the time where my ship docked from. Now before you think this was some scandal, one thing to know about me is I’m a stickler for rules. With a strict “no fraternizing with guests” policy, I made sure to abide while still making some new friends. We exchanged contacts & continued to stay in touch. Emails led to phone calls, then FaceTimes, the hometown visits & finally, after my 5th contract ended (he came to visit for 2 weeks in Asia on that one!), I made the move to Chicago where I had family to still pursue performing but be a little bit closer to this man, who had now become my boyfriend who lived in Milwaukee, WI.
We were engaged in 2018, married in Albuquerque during the International Balloon Fiesta in 2019 & I officially became a WI resident.
So how in the world did I go from world traveling singer to Instagram strategist? Hang on, we’re getting there.
As you well know, March 2020 will live in infamy as the month the world began to shut down. A pandemic had set a fog over the lives of many causing many people to lose their jobs – mine included.
During my time on cruise ships I discovered my love for video content creation through YouTube videos. I was fascinated by what you could create & the experience given through video editing. This is where my social media passion all started.
Now with no job & lots of free time, I decided I would go all in with social media & try to create a full-time income from it. I had a love of socials, makeup & life so I decided to tackle the world of Instagram as an influencer.
2 things I learned from starting something totally new – 1. you have to be ok with the messiness of it & 2. ask for help early on (mentor, membership, coaching, etc). There’s no reason you need to do things on your own ESPECIALLY when others have gone before & accomplished what you’re trying to do.
So May 2020 is when I truly dove in head first with a strategy & intention. Every month I would asses, tweak & try again. I repeated that process many times over until I booked my first 1:1 coaching client in September. Then reels came in the picture & because the was totally in my wheel house from all the years of video editing for YouTube, it expedited the whole thing jumping me from the 10k followers I had in September to the 60k+ followers I have today.
I had a vision to help even more people through my proven framework & community. Thus, the Fierce Social Society Membership (FSSM) was created in 2021 & launched January of 2022. With over 150 members, many have already seen a transformation in their Instagrams & more importantly in their businesses.
Something close to my heart is gathering like-minded, ambitious, uplifting women together to share ideas, encourage & empower each other to reach goals they never thought possible. I believe there is enough success at the table for all of us – you just need to be brave enough to pull up a chair.
People underestimate being one of a kind. Literally no one in the world has had the exact same life experiences as someone else which grants a unique perspective. Don’t take that for granted.
